July & August on the farm usually means heavy harvest mornings and pickup trucks laden with full crates of fresh-picked veggies pulling in to at the barn every hour or so. Then long, sunny afternoons cultivating and hoeing to keep ahead of the weeds in a battle that only ends at first frost in October. We cross our fingers for regular, not-too-heavy but not-too-light rainstorms to keep our crops watered and growing vigorously. These are the days we dream about during the cold winters—fields full of food, perfect blue skies, and no end in sight.

Farm Pizza Night is next Friday, July 19th at 5pm.
Shovel Town Brewery will be back with some great choices on tap, we’ll have invented a delicious new seasonal pizza topping by then, and there’s a rumor going around about Bushel + Crumb pies, but that’s still unconfirmed. Stay tuned to this Bat channel, pie lovers.
