Red, orange, yellow, pink, green, purple, black, striped, speckled, ribbed, streaked, mottled, flecked, not to mention juicy, flavorful, complex, luscious, intense, and DELICIOUS!
Yes, our Heirloom Tomatoes come in all shapes, sizes, colors, and even tastes. Some are
mild and sweet and others have deep, intense flavor that may be tangy or even a little tart. We love them all. And we’re picking them all, too. This hot weather has the Tomato plantings producing so fast that we can hardly keep up with all the harvesting. But we wouldn’t have it any other way–this is what we live for!
While we’re still definitely reveling in Tomato
season, we do, once and while, lavish some attention on all the other amazing and delicious crops in season right now. Our Pepper crop is looking great–Green Bells and Jalapeños and the not-to-be-missed Shishitos. The sweet & colorful Peppers are almost ready for harvesting, too!
We’ve finished the Garlic harvest for the season and it’s stacked up in the barn, curing so it’ll last through the winter. The storage Onion crop is also running through the curing process in the barn and we’ve been happy with the harvest this year.
Our Sunflowers are also loving the heat and we’re out picking every day to keep up with them. The whole bed buzzes with the happiness of a thousand bees, slurping up nectar and gathering pollen to bring home to the hive. We have a nudge them off the Sunflower faces as we harvest, telling them to move on down the row. They’re happy drunks, so they don’t mind.
