We’re enjoying a beautiful day here in Easton! It’s such a nice change to have the sun shining and temps in the 50’s even if snow is in tomorrow’s forecast. People often think of winter as a time when there’s not much work to be done on the farm and while we’re grateful for a slower pace, there is never a shortage of things to accomplish here at Langwater. Seeding began a little over a month ago in our heated greenhouse for our spring and summer crops and we have beautiful micro greens and salad mix that we’ve been growing to sell at our 2 winter farmers markets in Pawtucket and Easton.  Things have been quite busy over at the barn, Kevin has made a ton of improvements including a new warm storage area to keep all of our wonderful winter crops like sweet potatoes, popcorn and winter squashes. Check out the new cupola!

On top of all of that we are hard at work plotting and planning our crops here at the Langwater Farm property and for our new space at Wheaton Farm. If you haven’t heard the exciting news, we are thrilled to be expanding our operation! Check out this great write up about our new venture on wickedlocal.com.

We are looking forward to the opening of our farm stand on Saturday, May 3rd (only 7 weeks away!!). Until then, we are keeping our fingers crossed for the weather to turn so that we can get back to playing in the dirt and providing our community with scrumptious organic veggies.
