The Langwater Farm CSA is full for 2010! We appreciate all the enthusiasm and are keeping a waiting list in case people change their minds. Email us at langwaterfarm@gmail.com to get on the waiting list or to be first in line for the 2011 season!
What is a CSA?
Community Supported Agriculture, or CSA, is a great way to buy delicious, seasonal local food directly from a farmer. You sign up at the beginning of the season, and every week you get a bountiful box of beautiful vegetables. You’ll also get a newsletter letting you know what’s new on the farm, and we’ll share our favorite recipes for preparing that week’s veggies. CSA members (that’s you!) get the chance to develop a close relationship with the farm and will be invited to join us in special events and volunteer days. By joining Langwater Farm CSA, you can support a new local farm, have a well-stocked pantry full of amazing fresh produce, eat healthier, and know exactly where and who your food comes from.

Who should join?
YOU should! Our CSA is great for anyone who loves fresh food, farms, cooking, or eating. You will eat the best, healthiest, freshest, ripest seasonal produce all season long. Our CSA is for anyone who wants to eat great food. It’s for families or larger households who want to share meals together. It’s for smaller households or singles too- you can split a share with a friend or another member.
How can I join?
To reserve a share for the 2011 season or be added to the waitlist for 2010, email us at langwaterfarm@gmail.com and let us know you are interested.
How much does it cost?
A share costs $525 for the season, which runs approximately from June to November. If this presents a financial hardship but you are still interested in joining, please talk to us- we have lots of options available.
I’m worried a CSA share will be too much food!
First of all, we will provide you with lots of delicious recipes that will inspire you to cook all those yummy vegetables you will receive each week! Second, at every CSA pickup, we will have a donation/trade table, so if you don’t like something in your share, you can donate it to a shelter or food bank, or take something you do like that wasn’t someone else’s favorite thing.
If you still think a CSA share will be too big for you and your household, you can always split a share with someone. You can find a friend or neighbor who wants to split a share with you, or we can pair you up with another person who wants a half share. Just let us know, we are happy to help you.
What kind of time commitment is involved?
Each week you’ll need to come to the farm to pick up your share. If you can’t make it, you can ask a friend to pick it up for you.
We also will be asking members to contribute a small amount of time (4-8 volunteer hours/season on a sliding scale) to keeping the CSA running. You’ll have plenty of opportunities to contribute your volunteer hours, including weeding and harvest parties, planting days, and helping out at CSA distribution. Volunteering is a fun way to get to know the farmers and other members, be involved in the operations of the farm, and get your hands dirty. And, it helps us keep the share costs down. We have tasks for everyone of all skills and abilities. Who knows, you might enjoy it so much you’ll want to volunteer even more!
Where do I pick up my share?
CSA pickups will take place at Langwater Farm. This gives you a chance to share our beautiful location and see the farming in action! You’ll also get to join us in the fields with pick-your-own veggies and flowers.

I’m interested. I currently do a garden, but of no “major” scale, with my sister in East Bridgewater. I think it would be a lot of fun to be part of a larger, community, effort. I’ll look forward to hearing back about the details!

I would love to join , saw activity in the field in the fall and got so worried something other than the hay would go there. I am so happy the Ames family is returning it to its agricultural roots. I look foward to volunteering and being a member of your CSA.
We’re interested in joining.
I would love to join, but unfortunately it is geographically prohibitive! I just wanted to wish you well in this new year & hope you have a great harvest!
I woulod love more information on joining.
I’m too old to phycially help and don’t like veggies very much. Sorry on me! But, I’m very interested in buying eggs. I’ll be waiting for that. Good luck to all involved. And a big commendation to the Ames for allowing farming.
Do you still have space? I am very intersted. Thanks!
