After a winter that seemed as though it would never end, our farmstand will be re-opening for the season starting this Saturday May 4! We will be open for our regular business hours, Tuesday-Sunday 10am-6pm, until December 24th. These last few weeks have been busy, and the crew is excited to be back out in the field. The slow warm up has definitely caused some overcrowding in the greenhouse. A lot of plants were ready to be transplanted out into the field, but weren’t quite ready for the overnight low temps. Using row cover has really helped with this. The row cover is also a great barricade against early insect and deer pressure. Now that it is finally warming up, we are in a mad dash to get everything transplanted out into the field. The tractor with the water wheel transplanter has been running 5 days per week! We are also direct seeding lots of peas, beans, carrots, beets, greens, and other early varieties in the field.
For Opening Day, we will have lots of our Certified Organic vegetable seedlings… tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, eggplant, squash, melons, lettuce, herbs & much more! We will be harvesting our salad mix, scallions, lettuce and kale, so get ready for some great sporing salads! We will have local maple syrup from Davell’s in North Attleboro, MA and honey from Howland Apiaries in Brockton, MA.
We are excited to be starting another great season here at Langwater Farm! Thanks for your support!
